We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the redesign project for our custom wood home decor business. The revamped design now boasts a visually appealing slide image highlighting our best selling products, an intuitively organized alphabetized catalog for seamless navigation, and informative reviews of our top products to assist customers in making informed purchase decisions.

Research
Gathering Data
After gathering feedback from 3-4 users who tested our initial website, we found that some of the setbacks and flaws included vague product descriptions, inconsistent fonts across the website, and limited images. We are working to address these issues and improve the overall user experience.
Competitive Analysis
We research similar custom wood shops extensively. Some of the ones we looked at were:
Persona
Martha Jones is an interior designer seeking distinctive wood pieces to elevate a space, Country Phisticated offered a specialized selection of wood decor. Our handcrafted furniture and unique accent pieces are designed to make a lasting impression and bring your vision to life.
Problems with Webpage
The problems that the website had where that:
-Logo not centered/too small
-Lacks pricing on main products
-Large Empty Spacing
-Does not have carousel image
-Announcement does not follow order
-Inconsistent spacing between images
The menu header had several problems:
-Messy catalog website
- Inconsistent Spacing
-Inconsistent Fonts
-Does not have catalog button for the entire inventory
UI Design
Low Fidelity Prototype
When creating the catalog screen, it utilize a low fidelity prototype to effectively organize your products and highlight your top sellers. One effective way to showcase these items is through the use of an image carousel, with your logo prominently displayed in the upper left hand corner. To provide customers with the necessary information to make informed purchasing decisions, be sure to include prices and descriptive values for each item.
High Fidelity Design
We are pleased to announce the launch of our newly re-designed high fidelity website, which aims to enhance the overall organization of our merchandise and streamline the purchasing process for our customers. The background images on the website reflect our company's mission of home design and wood decors, while the carefully selected color scheme is intended to evoke a sense of warmth and comfort that is central to our brand.
Logo Redesign
In redesigning the logo we noticed several different problems that where present such as:
-Two different logos on website
-Secondary logo does not have store name on website
-Inconsistent/Multiple Color Palette
Three Primary Colors ( Blue, Red, Yellow)
One Secondary Color ( Orange)
One Tertiary Color ( Grey)
We took the customer's original logo and recreated it to represent the business of wood decor. From there we and created five different prototypes, which we then narrowed down. The customer chose one prototype which became the final version.
In revamping the logo we established a cohesive brand identity that enhanced the visual appeal and mission of the website. We created a well-crafted logo that aligned with the custom wood decor business that can effectively convey a distinctive value proposition to prospective clients and differentiate from competitors.
Next Steps
By seeking to broaden the inventory of the small business wood decor shop, it is worth considering the addition of custom engraving services. By incorporating custom engraved designs it will be with distinctive and personalized pieces that will differentiate your shop from competitors.
